Spring & Early Summer Celebrations (March-May)
1. Asparagus & Wine Festivals
Spring in Istria kicks off with celebrations of local produce like wild asparagus — šparoga — featured in dishes across many towns. May also brings the Vinistra Wine Festival in Poreč, one of the region’s largest wine exhibitions with tastings, presentations, and hundreds of exhibitors showcasing Istrian wines, spirits, and olive oils.
2. Festival of wild plants
At the end of every April, you can visit the festival of wild herbs in Kršan. Here you can pick and buy organic products from over 70 exhibitors from all over Croatia and region. And you can also educate yourself with interactive workshops and lecturers.
3. Istria Wine & Walk
Also in May, wine lovers roam vineyard trails near Buje — stopping at cellars along the way for tastings and local specialties.
