Two of Istria’s most distinctive flavours come together in Motovun this October.
On October 17 and 18, the hilltop town hosts the Teran & Truffle Festival, a two-day celebration dedicated to Istrian Teran wine and one of the region’s most prized ingredients — the white truffle. Teran is an indigenous Istrian red wine known for its deep ruby colour and bold character. At the festival, local winemakers come together to present their Teran wines, while seasonal truffle dishes show just how well these two Istrian favourites work together. And the timing couldn’t be better. October is right in the heart of white truffle season, with the forests surrounding Motovun and the Mirna River valley among Istria’s best-known truffle areas.
