On October 24 and 25, Livade hosts Tuber (Food) Fest, a two-day gastronomic event combining the relaxed concept of street food with traditional Istrian cuisine — and plenty of truffles. Chefs will prepare aromatic truffle dishes right in front of visitors, with tastings available at promotional prices. It’s an easy way to discover just how versatile Istria’s most famous ingredient can be, from traditional recipes to more modern interpretations. The weekend also brings themed gastronomic workshops, activities for children and sports programmes, making it an event you can easily turn into a full autumn day out.
The location couldn’t be more fitting either. Livade sits right beside the famous Motovun Forest, one of Istria’s most important truffle-growing areas, and has been known as the Centre of the World of Truffles since 1993. Come hungry. October in Istria is truffle season, after all.
